I would recommend it. I don't deny that with serious illnesses children are probably seen pretty quickly but for less serious complications where there is a waiting list you could be seen the next day with private healthcare. This happened with my son. I was seeing the Nhs consultants mignon (you don't often get to see the bigwig) and frankly they kept delaying a necessary operation for months. I then saw a private consultant through my healthcare plan and my son was operated on within the week.
I cannot recommend it highly enough, no worry about operations being cancelled because beds aren't available and all the other worries that Jo with nhs care. It's good and I appreciate it but there is better.

I would look into what sort of things it covers. We have waited months for our now 4 year old dd to be seen for various things relating to possible autism. We waited more than 6 months for a multi disciplinary assessment, they suspected Aspergers, we were told it would be about 9 weeks until she would be assessed to confirm it, but it's been 4 months now and we've still not got a date. She did have some occupational therapy which we didn't have to wait long for.

If anything, children are probably more likely than adults to need some form of treatment, but I would check to see what sort of things it covers.
