Help! Anyone stayed at Britannia Europa near Gatwick Airport

Hi
Wonderd if anyone has recently stayed at the Britannia Europa that is near Gatwick Airport. We have booked to stay there before we fly abroad in feb. But since we booked last year the trip advisor ratings have dived down and I am really not keen on having our first night of holiday ruined. Can cope with outdated decor but mould and dirt a big no no.
I am seriously considering booking elsewhere
Any one got any experience of a local hotel or B&B that will do parking as well please note 2 adults 3 children narrows it down a bit.
Many thanks in advance
Thanks to MSE savings we got to go to Disneyworld Florida.

We stayed at Premier Inn Gatwick Central and it was perfectly fine. However I think they will only accommodate 2 adults/2 children so prob not much use to you.
  • anyone?? hoping to find someone who has stayed there

    Hi,
Not stayed at the Britannia Europa at all, we stay at a great little B&B in Horley, 5 minutes away, ten max on a busy morning, owners will drive you to airport and your car is secure there. the B&B is called Cumberland House Hotel, they have family rooms, they don't do dinner but there's a great pub literally 2 minutes walk away called Ye Olde 6 Bells, good food and nice atmosphere. The B&B has consistently high ratings on Trip Advisor and can fully recommend having stayed there 4 or 5 times now.
    Regards

  • Thanks that helps I have looked at this b&b online and think we will go there. I just don't want to risk a bad start to the holiday!!
Having a reccomendation just seals my decision to go there. Thanks

  • I stayed there in Feb and have to say I didn't really like it. The hotel does seem quiet old fashioned to me.

The room was ok but it was very cold and the shower was pretty useless.

I was only staying over night as I was at a party so came in drunk and had a good night sleep :D

Breakfast was ok but nothing special.

I much prefer Premier Inn and Travel lodge etc.

I see that somebody has recommended somewhere else, I would choose that place over the Europa.
