Epson C42 Plus problems

Hi guys

I've got the above printer and am having some trouble getting it to work. When it is switched on the green and red lights both stay on. Perssing the red button moves the print head to the change black ink possision. both cartridges have just been changed and worked fine last night.

hmm the software coudnt communicate with the printer and I don't really fancy stripping down the printer.

  • i had that printer till recently and the green and red lights were both flashing continuously.

the help section said that this was an unknown error and to call them. i figured it was easier and cheaper to buy a new printer in the end.

Same issue on mine. Downloaded SSC, which didn't work on my PC. Had to load it and all the Epson stuff onto my laptop.

Right click on the icon in the taskbar and select the reset options one at a time.

Got a warning on one that I needed to clean the overflow pads (reminder to me: - must do that), reboot and now OK.

The software doesn't seem to like Win98SE, but my XP Home is OK. It can't reset the chip on the cartridge but it can reset the waste ink counter and can do all the "print test pattern" and clean heads stuff.
