Cat Flap Fitters

Our cat, Ginger, is getting a bit miaowy these days and I'd like to get her a cat flap.
The only issue is I don't want to fit it myself into uPVC (no matter how easy it is), as I'm the worst DIYer ever.
Can anyone recommend a good cat flap fitter? I've got a quote from catflapfitter.co.uk - about £135 all in inc. replacement uPVC thingy - which I'm prepared to pay (it includes a cat flap I believe), but I don't know if it's any good or if it's relatively expensive.
I'm near Enfield, North London.
Any help/advice gratefully received! Thanks in advance

Do you not have a shed she could go in. Mine go in our summerhouse and are fineIf You See Someone Without A Smile......Give Them One Of Yours0

If it goes into your house rather than a shed think about a Pet Porte.0

I fitted a staywell and then a petporte into our UPVC back door. It was not a 5 min job for me, I went through about 5 jigsaw blades doing it, although I'm not really an experienced DIYer. Our door had a 2 or 3mm steel plate in the middle, this was the !!!!!!, really. I couldn't find any blades that were advertised as for steel that thick. My hands were in agony afterwards due to having to push so hard to get the jigsaw to move through the metal (I'm only a wee girl though).
Plus it is hard to get the measurements exact, so after "finishing" the hole, I found the flap wouldn't fit and had to shave a bit off in various places. All in all, it took me the best part of an afternoon to do (that was including the trip to the DIY store to buy more blades).
I think if I was going to do it again in a new house, I might think about paying someone to do it... Not sure about £135 though, do check the RRP of the catflap he's going to fit.
Although the sense of achievement I had at the end of the day when DH came home and saw it was almost worth it! (ANd the repeated sense of pride I get when someone asks, did you get someone to fit that for you, and I can say NO! and then they say, oh I didn't know Pete was handy with tools, and I can say NO he isn't, I DID IT, ALL BY MYSELF!)0 -

Yup mines got the steel plate in it.
I had the easy job i sat and watched, but once your draw your template onto the door, that should help, or tape the template on.0 -
I've had £140 quoted to fit another cat flap in my glass door as the cat flap I currently have is old and not working properly - I have to have a new glass panel fitted which is the main cost so £135 for fitting in a UPVC door sounds quite a lot. I'll be bying the cat flap though and and get a glazier to fit it, so if you buy your own cat flap, that may reduce the cost a little.
Sounds daft me having it fitted in the glass door but to have it fitted in my front door which is a heavy wooden door would cost as much as I had quotes for both.

Can you maybe use an odd job kind of workman/woman? It doesn't sound like a particularly specialised kind of job, just need to be a bit DIY minded. I'm sure if you bought the catflap and an odd job person did it, it would nowhere near cost that sort of money...maybe post an enquiry on myhammer.co.uk to test the water?
I had my catflap put into a glass french door which cost around £120, which the majority of was the replacement glass. Catflap cost about a tenner I think.0 -
why don't you try one of those sites where you advertise the job needed, and you get different quotes from tradesman. There's a few of them on the internet. Then at least you can compare prices.DFD February 2012
