Grand Porto Real & Spa Mexico

i have been to mexico several time but this time we want to stay at the grand porto real and spa in playa del carmen normally im pretty good a booking a good deal but cant seem to get what i want this time

so has anyone stayed there recently, what are the standard rooms like we are going for 3 weeks in january 2011

Is it worth upgrading the rooms before or when you arrive ie cheaper before or on arrival

first choice is coming up the cheapest by hundreds of pounds on the standard rooms but is there any tips i could use if i book with first choice to try and get either a cheaper upgrade to the suites or sea view rooms
