I have inherited a lovely drop leaf table from my late Uncle but it has a white (cup) ring mark on it. I haven't a clue how to remove it so any advice would be gratefully received.
Many thanks

You could try making a paste with cigarette ash and water, spread onto the ring and leave for a couple of hours, then wipe off.0

Never heard of doing this with water. It was always cigarette ash and a smidgeon of olive oil I thought. Maybe you could try both. Lol.0

Why don't you try use an iron (warmish to hot) and some paper towels (I usually use about 2). Put the paper towels over the ring, and start ironing, move the paper towel every few seconds otherwise it might stick. Once the mark is gone polish as usual. Has worked for me.0

Last year I had this type of mark on our oak dining table. I used olive oil and baking powder, rubbed in simultaneously while blowing a hairdyer on top for the heat. While not completely invisible, you only see it if you 'look' for it, iyswim, you don't notice if glancing casually.Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams0

cig ash and olive oil has worked for me in the past. I have read, though not tried, that the white mark can be removed by rubbing with a cut brazil nut.0
