Internet Banking - Barclays

Hi

I will be automatically discharged from Bankruptcy on the 6th November and was just wondering if Barclays will let me have internet banking from this date?

Thanks
Lou

They did let me have mine back, i thought they were going to be difficult as the lady kept telling me they would only accept the letter which i had to pay £60-£65 for.....in the end i took in the letter i had been sent when i had early discharge which was stamped and she said that was sufficient.....i then got my internet banking back, i had been lost without it:D

If you can`t get Barclays to reinstate the online then the Coop Cashminder offer online banking throughout BR with no issues.

You can open Coop accounts over the phone, don`t need to be near a branch & can use any Post Office for all your banking.

My husband opened a Barclays account post discharge and was told that they do not allow internet banking for BR's, either during or after BR!!

Its not our main account, the Co Op cashminder is, but it would have been useful to have the facility. Wonder why some people get it and some don't?

That is nonsense. Need to take them to task on that.

I have it. So do others here.

If you are happy with what you've got, then perhaps not worth bothering with then..........?

Well the Barclays account was a separate account for any money my DH could earn doing a second job, so internet banking would be useful to have to keep an eye on the balance.

I will let him know and he can always ring them and ask for it to be set up. Cheers for that.

There is no logic in that at all. I don't understand why Barclays would restrict access to a service that allows you to manage your money more effectively.

Barclays (barclaycard) are one of my creditors so I went with co-op. I couldn't be more impressed with their service thus far.

Makes me glad I no longer work in banking
