Must be something wrong with this holiday accruing: 1.5 x 12 = 18/ The law is 20 days minimum, and it was stated earlier that company was giving 20 + 8 bank holidays.
The contract I have to hand is from 2008, not the current one.
Having a look at an old contract of my dads, it seems that the employees of the company accrue their holidays on a month by mnth basis, the contract for 2008 for instance states that employees will accrue 1.5 days per full month employed by the company.

whether it was or wasn't isn't the problem here, I'm after advice for this year, not what happened in 2008. Thats what is says on the contract, 1.5 days accrued per month.

PEOPE ARE GETTING CONFUSED WITH THE BANK HOLIDAY PART OF THE RULES, YOU ARE ENITLED TO 28 DAYS PAID HOLIDAY PER YEAR REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOUR COMPANY OPERATES ON BANK HOLIDAYS OR NOT. HOLIDAYS ARE ACCRUED AT THE RATE OF 2.33 DAYS PER MONTH SO JAN 2ND-NOV 5TH IS ROUGHLY 10 MONTHS WHICH EQUALS 23 DAYS.
FOR A PROPER CALCULATER CHECK OUT THE WWW.DIRECTGOV.UK
    HOPE THIS HELPS
    Public and bank holidays

You do not have a statutory right to paid leave on bank and public holidays. If your employer gives paid leave on a bank or public holiday, this can count towards your minimum holiday entitlement. There are eight permanent bank and public holidays in England and Wales (nine in Scotland and ten in Northern Ireland).
If you work on a bank or public holiday, there is no automatic right to an enhanced pay rate. What you get paid depends on your contract of employment.
If you are part time and your employer gives workers additional time off on bank holidays, this should be given pro rata to you as well, even if the bank holiday does
    Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.
