Well mom has given me her apple cake recipe and I havean apple pie one that has sweet pastry but I'm not very good at making pastry.
To be honest I'm not very good at cooking - might just stick to baked apples - even I can manage them.

Mam was confused when we got there tonight - she seemed very tired so we asked nurse to put her to bed. When she was settled we gave her tomato and corriander soup and a Rolo Dessert, then a cup of tea but she struggled with the tea so we gave her cool water and she drank a half cup. But she kept asking how we found her, did we come straight here (to the ward), and did we know she was there. she had forgotton that she had been in for 2 1/2 weeks and we had been to see her twice a day all that time - she was confused, but still had a laugh

It is now 3 days since she was taken off the drip and when my sister asked before why she wasn't now on the drip, they said it was because she is now on food and drink. But looking through her notes which I do everytime I'm there, in the in and out fluid charts, they have shown the volume from catheter but only recorded 100mls fluid intake each day - two cups of tea? Left with her and not drunk? We mentioned it to our friendly male nurse and he is passing the info over to night shift. Mam is obviously getting dehydrated, again! Sips of tea, plus what we give her at visiting is not enough fluid to hydrate her. But our friendly male nurse did Ok it with the sister on duty that we can attend lunch times to assist feeding, so I am going down tomorrow for 12 - 12.30 pm to make sure she eats and drinks

Oh and by the way, another good thing about looking through her notes, I find that although doc said she would be referred for nursing care on Wednesday/Thursday after our meeting on Wednesday, her notes show that the referral only went off today. And our friendly male nurse said that no transfers are done over weekends, so that puts everything back to next week now :mad:

By the way Kit, I am trying to access my emails on my 'puter but having trouble at moment, will have another go now

Oh my gosh, that is really worrying about the lack of fluids. People are illogical when dehydrated it may not be the dementia but lack of water that is causing confusion.

Dont worry Susan my email tonight is a ridiculously irritating question. Ignore it.

She is only the boss in this house all of the time.Dogs went out earlier Kit.Got soaking wet cos its bonfire night and it always rains then,dosnt it.You were right Boss,the raspberries have already turned into penecillan[still cant use spellcheck]
