    Update on Mam:

I went home from seeing Mam about 1 pm and my sister and neice went down about 2 pm for a couple of hours. They noticed that Mam's right hand/wrist was swollen quite badly and brought it to the attention of the nurse, so felt that it was due to the fluid input and raised her hand with a pillow. However, Mam was still sleeping mostly, just half-waking occassionally. I went down with my brother from 6.40 pm to 8 pm, and when we got there Mam was wide awake and seemed to know we were there. We settled down on chairs each side of her, and I checked her hand which was less swollen than earlier, but within 5 or 10 minutes she was falling asleep again. she was mostly asleep all the rest of the time we were there, occassionally half-waking as earlier, though she did manage to reply with a weak 'tarra' when we were saying goodnight, bless her. We checked with the nurse on the way out who confirmed that Mam had taken all of her liquid paracetamols and antibiotics today, which is a bonus, so hopefully this will mean a better day for her tomorrow

oh Susan, this is all so hard on you! It must be good that your Mam is getting the rest she needs, and her body is having a chance to heal, by sleeping when she needs it.

nope, and can't find DH's passport either. We might need it, although I think it is expired as he may be getting work in Milan in New Year, so need to get it renewed asap.
Found my address book though! that went missing too.
