  • I need advice i have been invited to go xmas shopping with best friend and her mum on Saturday to Westfield Shopping Centre in London but i have spent all my spending money for the month and only have food and taxi money left. Should i go and window shop and do lunch? or just not go?:(

I`ve not been to Westfield yet but I`m told its expensive so I bet most people window shop there anyway....nice for getting pressie ideas.

Depends if you can afford the travel & lunch.
  • Realistically probably not. I have to start saving for more stuff being done to my house so i think i may have to cancel. I had a fantastic day today to make up for it and i will also have a fab time on my birthday so I shouldn't push it any more I dont think. Looks like i will be here next saturday. I dont mind. I love it and it is good to rest. 000203FA.gif

Sorry - dingle dongle failed again

You can apply for a DRO (Debt Relief Order) if you have only £50 or less left over each month after normal household expenses, owe less that £15,000 and have less than £1000 in assets (a car/van valued up to £300 is allowed). So we satisfy the rules but anyone with a pension fund of over £300 could not apply, so Mr 3Dogs was not eligible, except he will be when they change the rules on pensions

Yes, if we can both do DRO's then, after a year, all our debts will be cleared and for that year, creditors can't chase us for the money (though some do but you just quote the DRO number to them)

So in one years time, we could have our lives back again. We'll still be short of money but with no-one chasing us for money, we could relax and live again :j :j

Yes SW, that news has made me feel so much better and Mr 3Dogs will be delighted when I tell him tomorrow. The change in the legislation may not come in immediately, it may be deferred to April 2011, but with that to look forward to, things will be much easier for us

  • Fantastic news. Thank you so much Angel. Now that is what MSE is all about. A simple announcement that would have been missed by most folks and can made a tremendous difference to someone's life. Improved consumer sovereignty moving towards the ideal of perfect competition and equality of information. And you know what I am PROUD to be here. 000203FA.gif

If you're not in too much of a hurry for your furniture, we can all check out the shops in London next month for more ideas at least :j It will be something to do, other than talk, and talk, and talk, and eat, and talk, and talk, and ....................... :rotfl: :rotfl:

And you're right SW, this is what MSE is all about - the pooling of knowledge put together with support, it's what everyone needs, in one way or another
