My daughter's BF may lose his job. He is currently living with us. He is 28 and will hopefully get another job quickly but my question is if he is sacked and continues to live with us (I work F/T as does my DD) will he be able to claim any benefits while he looks for a new job? Will our income make any difference ( I earn £38K pa)
Thanks
Thanks

If he has enough NI conts he will be able to claim Contribution based JSA regardless of household income and/or savings he has.
If he does not he will have to claim Income based JSA which means they will assess the income of the house/partner etc.

Even if he's paid the relevant NICs to claim JSACB, if he's sacked he may be sanctioned for up to 26 weeks, depending on the circumstances of his sacking.0

he has 2 interviews lined up (he is currently suspended on full pay while the MD is investigated about some procedures that weren't in place and should have been (H&S)) don't know any more but hopefully he'll keep his job
