No one has left me feedback

If I'm selling I usually leave feedback as soon as the money has been cleared by paypal. I find that this often encourages the buyer to leave feedback for me quite quickly.

Buying is sometimes a bit different though. For example, a couple of weeks ago my friend cracked the screen on her mobile phone. I found her a replacement on ebay, (it arrived last week), but I won't be seeing her again until later this week to fit it. Only when I'm sure it's working ok will I be able to leave feedback. I'm sure there are many other people who buy various items/gifts for friends which is why feedback may sometimes seem a little slow.

More recently, I bought a replacement mobile phone charger. After about a week it hadn't arrived, then I got a request from the seller asking me for feedback. Whilst I was a bit bogged off by this, I sent a polite reply saying that I wouldn't leave feedback until the item arrived. When the item did arrive three days later I left a neutral because of the email. If the email had not been sent I would have left a positive.

This feedback thing is annoying. While it is not essential to the ebay process, it is really useful in gaining an idea of the seller/buyer's reputation. I have recently bought and sold some things, and have yet to recieve feedback for them. If you pay promptly, you should be rewarded with positive feedback. If you sell an item and it arrives quickly and in good condition, it should be rewarded with good feedback. Having no feedback for something you send out is really annoying, cos you are left wondering whether it ever arrived. Plus, you are doing more trading than ebay can reflect. If no one left feedback, you'd never know what was bought/sold.

Also, i have recieved feedback from someone yet my total figure never altered, so i am on something like 63 transactions, but with a score of 59! Really annoying! I hate emailing people and asking for feedback.

I notice now that a lot of sellers dont actually leave feedback for buyers until the buyer has left feedback for the seller. I have discussed this with a few ebayers and they have all said that it encourages buyers to leave feedback.

As a seller I rely on the buyer leaving feedback so that I know the transaction has gone OK. Therefore I never leave f/b until the buyer has. If I am buying then I leave f/b as soon as I have received the item and I am satisfied.

Well, you could either complain on here OR ignore it as feedback is purely voluntary...
