Printer - can you set to black default?

Strange question but how can you set printer settings or a program to black ink instead of colour ink for default. I have tried various settings but keeps going back to colour rather than black because I use this colour mostly!?. I have a brother DC-120C and on windows 2000. :rolleyes:

The simplest way is to go to "Control Panel" locate the Printers icon and simply "add a new printer". Go through the installation (re-installing the same printer!) and once done set it as default and delete the old one (or keep as an alternative for a quick switch to colour printing)

or u can click printer properties and tick use black ink only

This is one of the settings I tried but the printer wont seam to do any thing else won't print out black as defult!. :mad:
