Salary protection for IT professionals

My husband is an IT Manager and wants to get ASU cover. I am looking into this for him as I'm off work at the mo, and was surprised when someone told me that 'hardly any insurance companies offer this type of protection for people in IT'.
I mean...WHAT? I can't actually believe this so if anyone can explain what they are talking about before I waste time making applications, that would be great. Also, if this odd rule does exist, would it apply to IT Managers or would they be classed as managers who presumably are covered? Bit confused.

IT people work in every sector you can think off. However some people just think we work in banks which isn't true.
So as long as your husband is a permanent employee and isn't in a sector where he is likely to lose his job he will have not problem.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

"someone" was wrong.
As said he will have the same opportunities everyone else does; of course if he is a contracter he will likely find it difficult but if he a FT employed IT manager for a company as long as he meets the other criteria he will be fine.0
