Average full time wage in Liverpool is £23,280

These houses for 114k are not located in the areas of Liverpool where the average wages is 23k, regardless of what government stats suggest.0 -

So what are people paid in the areas where house prices are £40K in liverpool?

£114K sounds a lot for liverpool to me.
Jobseekers allowance?
I'm not that confident you know what Liverpool is like, there are good and bad areas like many cities - it seems like you are trying to tar the whole city with the same brush to me.0 -
Having also lived in North Yorkshire and Manchester I just don't buy that those areas are more expensive on average than the East Midlands...
I noticed that prices in Lincolnshire (East Midlands) are very cheap for what you get, although I suppose there in not a lot of work around outside of farming.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

I don't but here is a £110K house, they are running a BMW X5, are you really wanting me to believe no one gets paid over £20K in liverpool and that the average house price is still £114k?, £114K could not be supported without wages.

No, I am not, but you are saying the stats are not correct then saying there are good and bad areas, would the good areas not earn more and houses cost more?0 -
I'd like to build my own house - but the few plots that come up already have PP on them for 4-bed detached houses, or two semis... and I'd just want a little detached house, prepared to put two up and flog one off .... it's a shame the whole PP thing is so complex... should just be able to buy a plot of land with some confidence that your different ideas (not necessarily larger) would be acceptable.
In fact, there's a plot right now - to build two semis.... I neither want a semi, nor two of them. Price of the land's fine though. If I knew I could cut it up into two and flog off the half I don't want/need I'd pick up the phone and enquire.0 -

Why not build 2, live in one until you have sold the one, then sell the other one after and get what you do want.

The average unemployment figure for this area is around 40% with the vast majority of jobs paying close to minimum wage.
Would you prefer to have another go?

Because I have no skills and no contacts .... and "they'd see me coming".Why not build 2, live in one until you have sold the one, then sell the other one after and get what you do want.
And, I spotted the plot based on location .... so would need to live there.
I am not a house builder.... I am just a small person with a small need for a small but lovely house
