Anyone answering phones at Tax Credits?

Why the hell won't anyone answer the phones?!??? 6 times i've rung now at various times of the day and have been on hold for at least ten minutes with no sign of anyone answering.....At least under labour someone was there (albeit unhelpfully most times) to answer your call. Austerity measures must mean only one operator now employed to answer the entire nations calls . Anyway it's about an extra payment we received. I notice some others had it too. Why the hell they do this with no explanation is anyone's guess. They'll probably demand it back in three years.....truly bloody hopeless.....

Well it's just the 'extra' CTC payment we received last week. We don't want to spend it if it isn't actually meant for us. Tax credits seem to have a habit of fluffing up payments in our experience....

I think you'll find that they are answering the phones - probably listening to people whine about how long it took to get through rather than getting the questions answered.

you think it's bad now waiting for peopleto answer the phones, wait till the cuts from the spending review are implemented.

If payments change then a new award notice be issued out after wards explaining it. Unfortunately people like you cannot wait, hence its busy.

One-off payments due to upgrade in system to implement new rules 11/12 e.g. 40000 inc limit remove baby element. One-off payments means regularly payments will be reduce e.g. one-off 50pounds means 2less for next 25weeks end of tax year

Hmrc still taking over a million calls a week, More calls than any other contact centre in Britain :) That one person taking the calls is very productive :)
