Buying a car thinking about using 0% credit card to pay for it but which one.

Hi,

I have bought a new car (be delivered some time in DEC) and was thinking instead of using my savigs I pay for it on a credit card and pay it off over a period of time.

But which card to choose from I was thinking a sainsburys one as I have nectar card points but can't determine whether I would make any on the purchase as the sainsbury credit card says 12 months 0% but not whether I make nectar points off of it.

I currently have about £1500 on my amazon card which I am clearing today (booked a holiday on it) and going to cancel this.

I only need a limit of £3000 give or take which my amazon card it over anyway.

I am interested in 0% purchase over x period cashback or the likes would be a nice feature. I saw the amex card but not sure if they would take that.

I used the tesco clubcard credit card to pay for a £5k car in feb and I've stoozed the money in an ISA as there is no interest to pay until march 2011, just the 3% minimum repayment per month. The garage charged me £72 for using a cc which I didn't think was too bad. So 0% on purchases over 13 months with clubcard points.

Think that what I am going to do didn't think about them charging me a fee to use my card.

Think I still go down the road of using a credit card don't like thought of using my saving rather pay it over a period on 0%.

I thought a lot of garages do not allow credit cards when paying ???
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

Not many will take a card payment without passing on the merchant fee from what I read most of the time - not come across any that will point blank refuse to take a card payment.

I've used 0% cards to buy 2 cars in the last five years, as it says above the fee is passed on but it's a lot less than paying interest on finance. These were both main dealerships though so maybe a smaller garage might say no.

I tried to do this last year but the merchant would have charged me 4% and the deal was only for a year so no point so got a personal loan instead. However some cards are offering cash into your account which would work

I bought my car on my credit card this year. They wanted to charge a fee as it was more than 2k but I just asked them to put it through in 3 transactions of 2k each and they did it no problems and no fee :)
