Fit a longer drain hose for a washing machine

I have a John Lewis JLWM1203 Washing Machine and the drain hose didn't reach under the sink.
I got an extension hose and attached it with a jubilee clip and it has worked fine for the last 18 months.
However, it is now leaking. Only a drip, but its still leaking.
I've seen some longer length hoses on the internet, but I need to know if they are easy to fit?
The hose seems to run inside of the washing machine, so cant see how it connects. Is it a case of taking the back off the machine, measuring the pipe and buying appropraite size?

They normally just screw onto a 90 degree connector protruding from the back of the machine.
But wouldn't it be easier just to tighten the jubilee clip a bit. or remove the extension, clean up the join and reassemble? No free lunch, and no free laptop

they normally just push on to the pump spigot and then tightened with a clip of some sort.

cheers guys.
I've already tighted the clip and removed, cleaned the joint and re tightend. It was pretty grotty so I think that may have been keeping a seal!:think:0
