Bit of fun? Security Advice Wizard.

Came across this on Gizmos site, smug Apple and Linux users need not look. :D

It suggests I should use Avira and Malwarebytes, I already use both.

Anyone else going to see if it agrees with their choice?
Move along, nothing to see.

Based on your answers you have been rated as a reasonably experienced user of Windows Vista who engages in high risk computer activities.

    Recommends:
    AntiVir (just AVG free currently)
    Malware (use SpyBot currently)
    ThreatFire (nothing like this AFAIK)
    Outpost (just windows firewall currently)

Looks like I ought to pull my socks up eh?!
Stuck in a hole :(:(:( Just a step from getting out

    Interesting stuff, thanks OP.

I'm surprised to see Avira getting such a recommendation in view of the fact that its nag screen is an irritant and its update service was so regularly prone to crashing that many Avira users decided to head for greener pastures -- in my case, to Avast, with its real-time shields, unobtrusive performance, and a daily updating that hasn't failed yet. Oh: and no stupid nag screens, either.

Can't see why Comodo is still flavour of the month either, when Online Armor is lighter and much, much less obstructive.

I have Avast, Online Armor and WinPatrol running simultaneously; they co-exist perfectly and resource demand barely registers.

(Good though in the comments to see Gizmo is still black-flagging anything from Chinese fakers Iobit. Well done, Gizmo.)

I don't find Avira's nag screen an irritant, either one click and it's gone or there are ways to disable it if you want to as to problems with updates that has not been a problem for a long time now.

Yet others would and would not recommend Avira Avast etc .
