Hi u post in the right place. I am a year 2 Buisness studies student.
First point I am going to made is the transport system in Bristol are the worst around the country. It is operate by First. They charge 2.80 for day rider. 14 pounds for student west weak ticket. 366 pounds for annual ticket. Used to be 310 last year and can use any first bus around uk except london. They use old bus on student route such as X84 and 70. Transport before 930 am are totally unreliable. Even though I stand at the bus top one hour before lecture I still cant arrive uni on time. Some of my friend buy a bike ride to UWE campus instead and save more than 200 a year.
UWE have 4 campus around city. Major campus is call Frenchay campus

From this site you will see the new student accomadation on campus cost 90 pounds a week:eek: Around the campus there are Natwest Bank and Sainsbury supermarket and some small outlet like Next store nearby.
Any further questions feel free to ask me0 -
I wouldn't argue with what's been said about Bristol's transport system, and I'm not and never have been a student in Bristol. In its defence, Bristol is a lovely city and seems to have a lively student life!Signature removed for peace of mind0

Hi just to put another view accross... i did 6 months there and dropped out due to the transport , it really is a right pain and can be such a mission at peak times due to the amount of students wanting to use a bus (sometimes having to wait for a couple before fitting on and of course city traffic)-i missed the luxury of driving myself around A LOT and unfortunately was put in to live with people i just couldnt stand for any longer. Lived in transom house and the location was good as close to night life, bus stops and train station.Campus life seemed ok but bit of a pain to go out in town due to taxi fairs back. Due to the capacity of students at the university i found it quite hard to rely on tutor availabilty and support if i had any problems. The night life was amazing.. as was the shopping!! Im from a small town and found the crime a big worry as knew people who got mugged and saw lots of violence an heard of shootings.0

They've just build a swanky new student village onsite see: http://www.uwe.ac.uk/accommodation/university/village.shtml
Bristol like any big city has got it's good parts and bad parts, the area where UWE is, is OK.0 -
You will find that in ANY large city. I moved here from a small town and yes, it's quite different, yes, it can be quite intimidating, but actually we've had more 'trouble' in our pleasant polite suburb than we've ever seen in the inner city, where DH and I work.donsycoo wrote:Im from a small town and found the crime a big worry as knew people who got mugged and saw lots of violence an heard of shootings.Signature removed for peace of mind0
