Hi All
At the moment i currently don't work and recive child tax credit. My partner will be starting work next week doing 40+ hours and will be on around £11000 a year. Would we be likley to recive child tax credit and working tax credit?
Thanks

for 40+ it works out at under minimum wage!

i would calculate his wages proper first to the pound before contacting tax credits vbecause if u get wrong you will have pay it all back or get money reduced.
work hours out per week, and the amount of money, dont take tax or ni out.
but if you stay under 16k a year you should be ok.0 -
Il be working 8hours a day 5 days week minimum wage.0

So that's either £5.93 * 8 * 5 * 52 = £12,334
Or if under 21 £4.92 * 8 * 5 * 52 = £10,233
Unless it's less than 52 weeks... It could be 40 weeks? £5.93 * 8 * 5 * 40 * 1.1207(for holidays) = £10,633
Or you might have figured it from using after tax income the tax on £12,334 is £1,172 and the NI is £728 meaning a net pay of £10,434
When declaring for tax credits you need to use the gross pay figure.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.
