just got this info from a friend who was a small shareholder

when choice went bust a refinace deal was agreed with HBOS
the deal had a few points they had to complete but were promised that if these were all met they refinace would be there

the major shareholders and company directors got together as part of the deal was they had to raise £xx million themselves & pull money from the other EHR companies
they did this before the dead line agreed.
But on going back to the bank the bank did not keep their agreement and this resulted in the customers losing their money and the shareholders & employees loseing out too.

the Gov have announched a full scale investigation into the actions of all involved and I also hear HBOS are now very nervose about thsi as most of their customers that lost out are in scotland

the directors & shareholders really thought they could pull throught the mess with choice going bust as I know we tried to buy shares in EHR before the shares were suspended - but non of the shareholders would sell theirs

lets hope HBOS get what they deserve

This is most interesting, and echoes my earlier statement that the role of HBOS deserves the closest scrutiny -especially in the timing of their final decision not to support the Group ie when cash in the Group was at its maximum -and in the suspicion that they encouraged EHR to keep Farepak collecting funds so that the money was there to repay the loans they had already given.
  • Following my previous dealings with HBOS this does not surprise me one bit!!

the listings have been removed on E bay! I wonder why?
    :A :j
  • Back to HBOS - I have been a loyal customer of there's for several years - It seems they too were involved in the demise of farepak !!! (Respond please HBOS)
I am more than happy to withdraw my financial dealings with this bank and would like to know what the rest of you feel in relation to this ????
Me alone aint gonna put them up or down, however several thousand people who have all been affected by the farepak fiasco, withdrawing from the fat cats bank and shifting our banking to another service may well encourage HBOS to make a statement on why they pulled the plug on Farepak - Thus taking thousands of not so fortunate families down with it !!!!!
Come on HBOS after all, aren't you the bank that care ????
