I had a meeting Friday just gone informing me that my post is deleted and subject to approval I will be made redundant.
I currently work for Local Government. I have a couple of questions.
I currently work for Local Government. I have a couple of questions.
- I have accident, sickness and unemployment cover which I took out at the beginning of June. As I have not had written confirmation of my redundancy, would I have to inform the policy provider now or do I wait untill I recieve written confirmation?
- If I recieve formal notice on March 3rd that Ive lost my job, can anybody confirm how long the consultancy process lasts for. Do they have to give me notice, and how much notice do they have to give me.

As your in local government they will have their policies on redundancy written down and accessible to you. If you are a member of your trade union then contact them. If not search on your human resources website, they will probbaly have local access only on their staff handbook, so you won't be able to check this evening.
Sorry to hear about this, I'm sure your redundancy insurance policy will have the specifics written down about how you claim, I would imagine that policies will vary and will all have different terms depending on the policy. I would imagine your head is not in a great place at the moment, I am also possibly going to be made redundant and have not really been sleeping very well since I found out. Best of luck.0 -

Thanks.
Good luck and I hope you aren't made redundant, not a nice thing to happen to anyone.
Funny you say that about not sleeping well, my sleep pattern since Friday night has almost been non-exsistant.
I will check on our intranet for info.0
