hi
i have recently bought car insurance from the green car insurance company, they asked if i had my proof of my no claims that i could send them so i sent them over 2 weeks ago and they havent received them so i rang them up and they said they would ring my previous insurers up,now i had a motor trade insurance last year with 7 years no claims protected with my previous insurer and the green insurance company are not accepting it as it was a motor trade cover so the green insurance company have now took my no claims bonus down to nil and trying to charge me an extra £400 for my policy,is it right that they can do that and i have to start from the beginning on getting my no claims protected when i already have 7 years worth?? any advice would be appreciated.
thanx

How did you set up the policy in the first place? Did you speak to anyone before arranging the cover?0

i did it online..no never spoke to anyone before setting up the policy..the first i spoke to them was when they sent me an email and letter saying that they hadnt received my proof.0

Unlucky. It's probably in the smallprint. Doesn't sound like you have a leg to stand on. This is why, despite twenty years in insurance, I can't imagine setting up a policy online.0
