Dreamweaver problem

I have Dreamweaver CS5. I am just learning and following tutorials to do so.

I created my first practice site yesterday and it worked perfectly. Today I went back onto Dreamweaver and when I open up the site, although the code is all still there in code view, in design view all I get is a blank page, which won't let me place the cursor in it (same in split view). The site still shows up in live view, and in the browser preview, but just not in design view. Any ideas as to what has goine wrong?

I have created a new blank test site, but again, in design view all I get is a blank page that will not let me place a cursor into it to add any content

Any help appreciated.

Olias

I'd be tempted to say that there's something badly wrong with your code, but HTML is not very informative about errors...

Almost impossible to debug this without sitting in front of the PC.

Hi, thanks for replying. Definately nothing wrong with the code, the practice site was coded directly from the tutorial manual and was working fine yesterday. In addition, the test page I created today was created by the Dreamweaver software itself (it was just an empty page) - but I should have been able to just place the cursor in the design view and start typing, but I can't.

I'm sure it's something extremely simple.

Solved the problem, so thought I would post what happened in case anyone else has a similar problem and does a search.

After exhausting every avenue, I eventually noticed that the line at the bottom of the design view window was slightly thicker than the others around the window. I clicked on it and was able to drag the whole window up - for some reason the whole thing had slipped down and off the bottom of the screen (weird!) - leaving an empty and unclickable blank space. There was no scroll bar at the side of the window, so no other evidence that the window had disappeared off the bottom!

I have no idea how it happened, all I had done the previous day after my session was to save my work and exit out of Dreamweaver.

Anyway, it's fixed now - just one of those mysteries!
