Engine stalling when gears changed

Hi

Many of you know that the past week or so I have had a few problems with my car, a Ford Mondeo 2.5 V6 Automatic.

Anyway, totoday after parking up it is now stalling.

It starts, drives fine and with no problems but however whenever I move the autobox gear from 'D' (Drive) to 'P' (Park) the engine 'dies' and just cuts out!!!!!

It does not do it at any other time, even when left to idle but appears to hate being put into 'P' now, since resetting the ECU.

Any advice/thoughts?

Also, don't know if it's worth mentioning but when starting the car it fires up soon as I touch the key, I mean you don't even hear it turn over anymore!!!

:o

Why did you reset the ECU? Did you follow the learning procedure (Find it on Talkford.com) or did you not bother with that and just use it normally?

    Hi Hammyman.

I reset the ECU between Saturday evening and Sunday (yesterday) as left the battery out all Saturday night.
I did it as the car was using loads of fuel and the trip computer miss reading.

I did do the reset on the ECU and the relearn procedure (Driving 5 miles of different driving ranges - did loads more miles than 5 miles!)

However now the engine will SOMETIMES stall when I put it from 'D' into 'P'
