Hi There
My hubbie is currently off work due to having Oespehgal Cancer:( and is currently receiving a proportion of his salary, which is due to stop in Jan (due to being off 12 months then)
He is currently receiving DLA (high rate) and ESA.
I receive Carers, WTC and CTC and am not currently working.
We have only recently started getting ESA and was just wondering whether we have to tell the Tax Credits??? Is it taken into consideration at all, dreading telling them now as convinced the tax credit money is going to go down.
We are uneligable for HB and CTB as he's still getting some of his salary and receiving the ESA tips us over the threshold of claiming.
Hubbie is unsure of whether he'll be able to return to work in Jan and don't think he will either. What other benefits would he be entitled to if he has to finish work?
He's very wary of claiming anything, after working his whole life and never having to claim before.
Thanks for reading this far and would appreciate any help.
Best Wishes
Vickie

You need to inform HMRC. Your WTC entitlement ended when you started claiming ESA.Gone ... or have I?0

I get ESA (Contributory) & this affects my CTCs. Not sure if ESA (Income) is the same though.
Sorry to hear about your husband - its rubbish worrying about money when you've got all that to deal with. Good luck. And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...0
