Epson stylus DX4450 printer fault

Help please with an Epson stylus DX4450 printer, it has been working fine until recently when it refused to print, I have a solid on light (green)and a solid ink light (red) .In device manager it seems I have no drivers despite it being installed for almost a year. I have rolled back the drivers and uninstalled the drivers even with the supplied disc, but to no avail. I recently lost the internet due to windows updates, and also lost my usb ports due to Kaspersky update so I'm not sure if it is a printer/software/update problem. I am on XP pro sp3. Any help would be appreciated.

But, if Windows XP is still giving problems after those updates, then you may also need to try doing a "System Restore" from a point prior to applying those updates.

Thanks for that but I've tried several system restores and the link seems to be more for unrecognised cartridges, whereas my drivers seemed to have disapeared after being installed for around one year, and if I try to install the drivers from the supplied disc it informs me that it can't recognise the printer?? Even after uninstalling and reinstalling.

Hi I also have a problem with my driver. My computer needed wiping a while back and after that i had to install my drivers again! 1 problem, cannot find the disks

Went to the Epson website and managed to download the driver for the scanner fine but it now wont let me download anything else and when i try it says its installing kodak easyshare software.

any suggestions?
