  • Congratulations on the payrise Billy - that'll pay for M's shopping! :p

I think she got some good bargains there actually :)

  • Hey Billy
Ok then with that shopping list for "just milk" I think Moyra can probably be forgiven a bit! :rotfl:
shame that you are a few hundred down on your projections!
What is the next step in the big house , cant remember whether you got any land in the end or are still looking?... I wouldnt mind a 2.8 million house either, though I think it might be slightly big for just us!
re: your questions on selling , Im not sure if it is different up in scotland but here the cost would be Estate Agents and solicitors . Solicitors depending on the amount they have to do (ie, looking into leases for flats etc..) are anywhere from £350 ish , EA fee's - ours is fixed but anywhere from 1-1.5% of the sale price upwards , nothing else I can think of involved- at least I hope not otherwise my best laid financial plans will go to pot! ;)

    Hi SSTS,

Moyra agrees. Everything was a bargain - even at 10% or £3 off. £65 shoes instead of £68 shoes doesn't count as a bargain in my book. 12 tins of beans at Tesco for £2 though is a whole other matter. Where I'm going to put the 96 tins I've bought today is tonight's logic puzzle!!

    Cheers,

    Billy

    Thanks TYO,

I think anything with Agent in it is a proper rip off but £350 is mroe reasonable than I had expected. Still no land and no immediate prospect of land either. The good news there is that the longer is takes, the more cash we'll have and the less we'll need to borrow.

We were quite taken (decorating taste aside) with this one but it's stretching the pennies a wee bit far at the moment. That and our place will be bigger, better and less than two thirds of the price.

    Morning All,

A nice wee influx of cash in the last few days has seen us get properly settled is month. Christmas shopping, including cards and wrapping paper is officially finished, credit card is £250 in credit, the bank balance stands at a touch over £500, the combined student loans have dipped under £19,000 and are decreasing at a rate of £300p/m, expenses and two of three loan repayments have come in with a third expected this time next week. Everything is considerably rosy at the moment so I'm expecting the unexpected (if that's even possible)!!

    Cheers,

    Billy

  • Wow...that house you posted the link for is nice. Don't normally like new builds, but it looks good (decorating aside as you said).

    Hi misscousinitt,

There are a lot of nice bits but I'm now picky enough to see all the hints that are wrong with it as well. I like the exterior but can't be doing with two tiny garages - that should at least be one big double garage. The colours are awful but the widescreen rooms are cool. The kitchen isn't the biggest of best either. We'll either be stuck here forever and a day or we'll get the big house done. No middle ground.

    Cheers,

    Billy
