Am guessing you already have THIS one
Hi Gally,
Shockingly, yes. Moyra strategically grabbed this to make it "our" duck collection and stop me moaning about how ridiculous the downstairs toilet is. Needless to say, that didn't work but she's stuck to her guns ever since!
Naturally, today is a better football day...

Earth calling Billy, earth calling Billy, hallloooo, is there anyone there ?????? The next thing you'll be telling us is that you have been busy with work and family though I must confess I'm a little worried that you've been buried under a sea of ducks :rotfl:

Hiya ATT,
Ten four! Coming through loud and clear...
I honestly can't express how stupid it has been at work in the last couple of weeks. Doing what amounts to two full-time jobs is proving extremely challenging and is wearing on Moyra's patience quite considerably. I need to hand over a lot of bits and pieces on the transactional HR side of things this week which should lessen the load. I've almost finished my strategy template which will go our to my four directorate heads tonight to be completed by the end of the week. There are a load of changes planned and even more that have been deemed necessary (by me at any rate) but not yet planned. Every night has been a 3am slog and it's starting to mean that things are getting missed which isn't any good to anyone.
Had a bit of a disaster with the money which has managed to leave us with less than a tenner in the bank! A bit of overexuberence in paying off the acquired debt and a failure to plan for a couple of restaurants only accepting cash has left us about as cash poor as we've ever been! A wee bit embarassing but Moyra gets paid tomorrow and I get paid on Thursday so this will definitely be the last time we ever have any real concerns about money.
Naturally, a lot to report on but not a lot of time to get it done! I did receive the deeds for the house today which was nice. The bank's charge is still attached but we can deal with that at our leisure.
On the blue v pink thing, I think I may well have made a rookie mistake here! By my reckoning, it must be 80% women at a minimum on this board which sets me up for a bit of a doing - I'll only remind you that I didn't start it...

Yes you did (or at least your ancestors did). You told Eve you were sick of having the same thing for dinner every night & she should go & get something new for you to tryA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Hi Gally,
That's a hard one to respond to without upsetting the religious crowd and I'm in enough trouble as it is!!

Namona Froggy,
FD is certainly off the docket to be sure! Thankfully, we've both now been paid so everything is properly rosy again and we've stuck a few thousand into the savings as we begin building the £10k rainy day fund over the next couple of months. It was a stressful few days holding the idea that we had literally no money to call on if it had been required!

Hi ATT,
I accept your (weak willed woman) truce!! There were doubtless a good few retorts to Gally's joke but I wasn't touching any of them with a ten foot pole...
This is one of the places that I can be a bit off the wall so I accept the compliment with much gratitude and humility. Just because we're all fanatic spreadsheetaholics pushing for something approaching the same goal, it doesn't mean we shouldn't have a bit of a laugh along the way. Too many folk get too down on themselves instead of rolling with the punches and keeping a sense of perspective - I'll be there to remind said folk of all the things that are bright and sunny in the world - even if that means insulting half the world's population in doing so!
I honestly hate to do this but it appears the taxman is desperate to make a friend of me yet! For reasons passing understanding, I was given yet another tax rebate through the payroll system this month. Instead of paying any tax, I was credited just under £200. Something about this seems all wrong as that's now more than £2,500 in less than a couple of months. Needless to say, I won't argue but I'm slightly nervous they're going to come and demand thousands from me at some point!
Cheers,

Evening All,
I checked the bank yesterday and we had some money which was a lovely relief as Moyra had been paid. I checked the bank this morning and, suspiciously, there was a good bit more than I had expected. Seeing as I haven't discussed my pay rise with the Chairman as yet, I thought he had maybe jumped the gun and put something through but a view of my payslip this afternoon showed that I had been paid tax so that makes a difference of about £800 in the total. I don't understand any part of the tax system and just hope they know what they're doing.
Stuck a couple of thousand into the hitherto untouched savings account to get started on a "never be as skint as last week ever again" fund! Updated the SOA which, as it stands, puts out assets above the £200k mark for the first time. With the student loans now coming down £300 a month, our net assets stand at £180,864.04 so the next big goal is to get net assets above the £200k mark - what's life without a target or two!?! A somewhat more sinister statistic is the one that confirms, were we to both kick it, our inheritance fund would now total just a touch over £1m. In that we've no-one to really provide for, we do need to sit down and make some decisions about where that money would go but it's not a nice thing to be thinking about at the best of times. At the moment, all the money goes to Moyra's auntie and she'll dole it out as she sees fit but we need to think about apportioning it clearly. Maybe a massive all-in jaunt to Vegas for everyone we know and £100,000 on red just for kicks!!
Cheers,
