    Hi TYO,

Thanks. I'll be on the case with the big bookcase at the weekend but I've lost my fear of building furniture to be sure. With a hammer, a couple of screwdrivers and a lot of luck, I've discovered a new hobby. The only trouble is that we don't really need any more furniture! Typical!

    Cheers,

    Billy

    Ka Sosoo Froggy,

Cheers for that. I didn't realise that they have a discount scheme. We only spent £140 or so the other day and the new bookcase won't be expensive so it might not be worth the effort. Look at me and my carefree ways....

I'm just back from the school. I forget how shy and quiet kids can be at 16/17. It took a bit of an effort to get them to ask a few questions but hopefully they got something out of it. As a nice coincidence, I ran into a guy Moyra and I went to school with. He's now a qualified architect which could yet be very handy. I'll give him a shout this week to set up a chat. He's keen on popping over for dinner with his wife so we'll set that up and I'll grill him about our design. He did gasp at the scale of the big house and immediately identified all the dead space so he can help a lot. We could yet shave a good bit of space and cost off the project.

    Cheers,

    Billy

    Hi Mooc,

I'll have a look at the weekend. Never say no to meatballs! I did see an almond torte thing that looked interesting but that was all the freezer I saw had in it. I'll have a better look around the the weekend.

    Cheers,

    Morning Folks,

Off to the framers to investigate jigsaw framing and the building of bespoke presentation cases for my wall of death - although I'll need to find a nicer term for it!

The new bathroom is causing us some issues. We had a tap handle come away last week which is a relatively minor inconvenience (as it still works). The plumber came round yesterday to advise that the threading on the something or other in the tap handle has come away so it will need a new handle which means a trip back to the bethroom place as well. So even when you can get the staff, you can't get the materials!! Whilst he was in the house, I got him to turn the water temperature up which I now realise has turned the watter pressure down so I need him to come out one more time to get the appropriate balance - might wait until next week when I have my new tap to hand!

    Cheers,

    Billy

    Hi there

Just been catching up on all things in Billy land :D Well done you on your DIY, it's my own very dark secret that I love putting stuff together and I love it when someone in the family needs a flat pack or two put together :o

By the way, in your earlier post where you mention the black kitchen and then having a mad moment and doing it yourself - I read that like you were going to put the kitchen together yourself so can fully understand some of others thinking you were going to build the big house yourself :rotfl:read it again and you'll see what we mean.

I've been up to that Scotland this week, what an earth was the weather doing in Glasgow on Tuesday - as the saying goes, only good for ducks!

    Hi ATT,

Thanks for popping by. I'm ambitious to be sure but neither reckless or stupid. Anything bigger than a 3ft table will still see me get a pro in. I'm mostly updating the blog on the iPad which isn't brilliant for reviewing so I'll give myself some excuse with the confusion I've clearly caused!

The weather up here for what is very nearly mid-june is absolutely rubbish. Every deluge makes me long for Vegas. It's likely to be a long five weeks!
