    Hi mpg,

I'm a rubbish target for a mugging! I'm a hardcore fan of cards now so it's lucky to even be a fiver!

    Morning All,

Taken a day off to wait for the new bed to arrive. Happily, it arrived at half 9 this morning and everything is in order. Got a properly decent deal at £239 down from £599 for the 4-bed divan and mattress. Only a bedside table and an as yet to be decided on print to finish that room off - something Vegasy no doubt...

Now that the bed is sorted though, I'm back to attacking the sky planner and finishing building the skills matrix and training plan for a tender we're working on which would mean another expansion down south. I may yet need a second home in the midlands if our plans all come to fruition!

    Cheers,

    Billy

    Hi Billy

An extreme lurker here who has found an oustanding thread in yours!!

Just this second caught up on your whole story so far - and what a journey it's turning out to be. I'd like to see it in the form of Max and Paddy's Big Adventure or something similar, make a great TV docu-diary!!

Just popping in to say good luck in it "all" and I've subscribed so can now keep myself updated.

We're just having the last of our extensions done (one upstairs last year in the form of an extra bedroom/extension of existing bedroom, now sorting the downstairs out with knock-through kitchen/diner/conservatory), so should be starting our quest to be MF soon once the dust settles......

Keep up the good work mate, great job....

    All the Best
    Dave

    Cheers Dave,

I'm not at all sure what an extreme lurker is. I have visions of you now reading MSE whilst juggling chainsaws on a high wire. Don't correct me on that. It's a fun image!

Unfortunately, it's more "the scheme" than "cribs" at the moment but I've no doubts at all that we'll get to where we want to be eventually. In the meantime, we're enjoying life and, even on the busy days, the knowledge that if things got really bad for us with work (and we're both very happy atm) we could just chuck it and still be comfortable is the best thing about owning the house outright (albeit ticking the "own outright" box on forms runs it a close second).

Many thanks for the best wishes. Hope your great renovations continue with no problems.

    Cheers

    Billy

    Morning All,

It's amazing the things you learn about yourself on a day off. So far, I've discovered that I'm not half as bad as I thought on the DIY front having got the new bed in the spare room sorted, I'm very quickly becoming a grumpy old man (particularly when it comes to daytime telly - who watches that crap?!) and, most depressingly, that I'm absolutely hopeless at akin a day off. From 1:30 to 11:30, I've battered through a complete skills matrix for three companies in the group, developed an organisation and technical accreditation and training plan, completed a total service improvement plan, an itil compliance strategy, a revenue v capital budget worked example, worked through all but one of my actions for the meeting on the 15th, compiled a fairly comprehensive tribunal packet for my first ET claimant side experience and brought the outstanding emails in my inbox down from 107 to 10. I've only stopped because I need to work with other people on the remaining tasks. I need to work harder on how to take holidays!!

    Cheers,

    Billy

Sounds like a very relaxing day off :D Hope all is well oop north?

I am still fighting against the flood of emails coming through.. The nice weather outside does not help much with the concentration required to perform the tasks at hand..

    Ya bulika Froggy,

A balmy 26 degrees in sunny Scotland today. Everything is grand up here. Took an age to finalise my expenses for last month but that was the main job for today as it's over £1k and the sooner I have it back in the bank, so much the better. I need to start sorting out various bits and pieces for the holiday. Trying to decide which shows to see this year is proving difficult. Hope all is well down your neck of the woods.

    Cheers,

    Billy

Well done on sorting expenses, I know they can be a pain, but needs doing to keep cashflow in check..
Let me know if you want some help with the Vegas shows, my SIL and her OH have just come back from Las Vegas..

All is well down here, quite hot too (says freezing Froggy in a dark office, looking outside the window at people enjoying ice cream and catching the sun along the canal :o)... lazy weekend planned here, not doing too much..(hopefully)..

    Cheers

    Kiniga ase Froggy,

Not quite unheard of, but certainly enough for everyone and their dog to shed as many clothes as they can whilst staying on the right side of the law (but not decency). Our trouble is that we've seen a lot of the resident shows, they don't rotate quite as much as they once did and headliners don't seem keen on coming in July. Might look at tickets for the Amir Khan fight as going to the boxing at least once is on my list!

Hope you're enjoying the early evening in appropriate splendour. Great news from the dastardly agency! Have a grand weekend. Moyra shouts hello...

    Cheers,

    Billy
