Hi babyb,
It's completely done now. I'll get some before and after pics up when I'm back from my afternoon stroll to bottom that particular project out. All in all, it's been a runaway success. Can't tell you how much I'm loving the new bath!
Cheers,

Hi ATT,
I'm scheduled to be a vision in purple and pink for my brother's wedding which I'm not looking forward to so I'm glad my skirt has had a couple of showings already. I think I might start wearing it to work of a Friday for a bit of a laugh. I know a lot of people like the Dalmahoy but I've never been that much of a fan. I used to go for work a good bit as my boss always insisted on meeting there when she was up but, as an MSE convert, I'll never be able to get on board with £4.90 for a glass of diet coke.
I ended up in London at some De Vere outfit in Ascot (Moyra was suitably impressed with some of the houses down that was so the exterior of the big house may yet be taken a form in her mind) so no Mint or Apple TV as yet. A boy at work got the Apple TV and was raving about it but I'll need to see if it's worth bothering about. With my dodgy iPad and the glory that is mobile theatre, if I can stream things directly from the iPad to the telly, it will be worth going.
We were, between the guys arriving and the last of them leaving, two weeks in total but the last bit was the removal of the old tank and the relaying of the insulation in the loft so it was about 9 days in total as they weren't in whilst we were down the road. Everything is now nearly ship shape. Got a whack of stuff to flog on eBay when I get the chance but it's more tempting just to lob it all down to the skip. That would be a bit of a shame as the majority is stuff that has never been opened or used. I'll stick a list on here of what we've got and, if anyone is based anywhere near me (or my travels in the next few weeks), then I'll gladly donate our junk to anyone who wants it.
She's well pleased with her shower and the baby shower that comes with it for cleaning. I may not have stressed the point enough but my bath is amazing as well!! Now that we've kicked things off in the house though, we're planning on doing the kitchen next. Can't imagine we'll be able to afford it until early next year as, following an executive decision from the lady of the house, it is going to be a complete rip and replace job again.
Cheers,

As near as damnit permanent residence. It's that bad that I mistakenly had a normal bath the other day with all the stuff going on in my wee world and put myself into a bad mood all day!!
Will update on the goings on presently...

Afternoon All,
What a couple of weeks. We've no sooner got the bathroom done and started negotiating the painting of the spare room than:
1/ the downstairs toilet springs a leak - emergency plumber in (£150) and potentially a quick requirement to get te downstairs toilet re-done which wasn't in the plan for this year at all
2/ we get hit with what we have been promised is the final ever request for money from family - £1,200 to go on holiday for my auntie and my cousin for his 21st. They've both had a hard time of it recently and she's very confident that she can pay us back at £200 a month starting in June. They already owe us £650 between them so all the alarm bells of the day are ringing but it's really hard to say no - as such, I've said that we really need the money back asap but we'll lend them them money for the holiday. Makes things pretty tight for us for another month or so but it's only money and there are more important things. I'll hold off on a wee bit of financial planning before I transfer it tomorrow.
3/ Moyra is pushing harder and harder to buy land. With no real idea of what the planning laws are, she's decided that we definitely need something that has detailed planning permission and she's willing to downgrade the big house (almost to a medium house!!) to get it done. I'm still of the opinion that we've got time on our hands and I'd much rather wait and get everything we want instead of jumping into a compromise that we'll end up regretting. This is one fight she won't win.
Work has been absolutely manic in the last few weeks as well. There's so much going on my head is spinning constantly and it's taken a fairly major effort this week to clear the majority of my inbox. The stupid thing is that it's all pressure that I put on myself as I don't think my boss would mind a bit if I didn't manage half the things I've set myself but that's not what being a perfectionist is all about, is it!?
Got my brother's wedding tomorrow so that's a day off to some extent. Have to suffer through the idiocy of the congregated mass as well as my little brother - all the while wearing what can only be described as a bright purple skirt. I found out last night that he didn't pick the skirt colour - that was the bride because it shows off her dress nicely. I think this is the archetypal situation where the really pretty friend goes out with her munter friends to make herself look even better. I wouldn't mind that a bit in this instance except that I'm being dragged into the madding crowd. Hopefully, it will all blur into a big purple haze with the five of us in the monstrosity. It's very, very purple and I can't say I'm looking forward to appearing in public in it. Thank god the Youtube sensation "hot stuff" dance idea didn't go ahead (at least not including me). I'll report back on Friday but my expectations are set on sub-zero. Moyra went to the hen weekend in Blackpool and, from listening to some of the tales, there shouldn't be a shortage of stories to tell.
Quite aside from that, I haven't managed to complete my before and after story of the bathroom in one easy to click snippet, I haven't managed to list anything on eBay or gumtree or freegle or anything like that, I haven't managed to sort out the revised SOA (mainly as it's quite clearly going to relegate me from this board onto the debt-free wannabe board!) and it feels like everything is going backwards. What I did do is, after suffering a wee bit of frustration with Moyra hogging the iPad, is buy another one. We've now got a jailbroken version with all the apps of the day on it and a legit version with iTunes and photos on which spreads the disc capacity that wee bit further. Managed to clear the garden, clean the house from top to bottom and get back round to visit a few friends and family. At some point, I'm going to get some sleep and the world will be a rosier place again!
Hope everyone is grand and dandy.
Cheers,

Hi RT,
I'm normally not an advocate of such things, but your post made me laugh so you can have a :T pacman. I'll be more careful with my bath-based descriptions in future!

Hi TYO,
I'll convert you all to some Scottish slang yet. Beyond all the minor annoyances in my life, it still irks me when someone puts little in front of wee when they're describing something. The Americans are particular culprits in this arena! Thankfully, everything has calmed down in my world at home and at work whilst it's all kicked off elsewhere so I'm not half as uppity as I have been in the last wee while. I'm off to see if you've popped up a pic or two of your bathroom.
Cheers,
