Static caravan insurance

OMG i am so cross .The bill came for our static caravan insurance,i thought i would check on line what sort of prices there is out there and found one for £117 .Theres is £364-94:eek:on ringing them up i was told i have to have there's it's in there T&Cs.They must be making commission on this or we would'nt be tied into it.All that extra money,it griefs me to think what i could be saving.:mad:Doubt very much there's anything i can do about unless anybody knows different

You are correct in thinking that they are probably getting some sort of commission or kick back from the broker/insurer.
On the other hand they could be making sure that all the occupiers of the park have valid insurance and it is easier for them to collate and ensure all of the policies are up to date.
A couple of questions:
- Is this a national park or single venture?
- Have you checked can you post a copy of the T&C's?
- Do you actually get an insurance document from them?0 -

Yes it is in the contract and they do send a proper policy i think all that is up front,it just seems so wrong we have to get there insurance.The caravan is ours all bought and paid for we just rent a pitch from them on a well know holiday park,it's the same with the alarm we have pay them for one even though we don't use it and for a yearly maintance check,seems they have us over a barrel.0
