ATOS Medical ESA

Hi, has anyone been for this recently? what is it like?

i am going with my social worker because i can't go alone, but i have heard that sometimes no matter what answers you give to their questions they do their best to fail you on it.

i have severe anxiety which stops me leaving the house even talking to my family members sometimes, has anyone else passed the medical with anxiety problems?

Thanks.

When I went for mine in September I'd actually say that the doctor did his very best to ensure that I got enough points to get ESA. He had difficulty because the computer system they have to use doesn't allow for subtlies and a lot of the questions had to be answered yes or no but he did what he could.

I don't have a diagnosis yet so I haven't been able to say whether my problems are a physical or mental health issue. But because my symptoms are not visible (I get confused and forgetful) the doctor had to do what he could by listening what I had to say about how I was affected and listening to my husband's descriptions as well.

I ended up with 23points and was put in the Work related group which I was happy with. The medical report wasn't perfect (I requested a copy) but it was clear the doctor did what he could given the constraints of the questions he had to ask and the choice of answers he could choose.

Try not to worry too much, and remember you have the support of your social worker. I read too much information on forums like this and I was terrified about going to my medical but it was fine.
