As for me I always buy cards, but I think that it’s more exciting and funny to create one by myself)))) so next time I will make one)))))0

This may sound a bit mean to some people but hubby & I send the same cards to each other every year!
The cards are carefully wrapped up in tissue paper & put away with the decorations & then come out when we trim up the Sunday before Christmas.
This all started many years ago when we were very hard up newlyweds ( an old lady told me she & her husband had done this for many years, & I really liked the idea & suggested it to hubby who was up for it.)
31 years on we are debt & mortgage free, &the cost of a card would be incidental, but the old cards come out every year & I find it quite sentimental & would hate to replace them. The words in them still mean the same to us now as when we were first married, & they always give me a lump in my throat – soppy but true!
I also have a few Christmas tree decorations from when I was a child that I inherited from my Mum - I love them & wouldn’t part with them for the world.
We have always bought birthday cards for each other every year though, so not total cheapskates!
Too much of a good thing can be wonderful!0 -
Have done for over thirty years but past few years we stopped it, you buy a card as nice as some can be and a good card can cost up to £5. Once read it sits on a shelf and taken down in the New Year. In fact we have stopped buying cards you can always add little notes to pack lunches through out the year rather than a greetings card twice a year.
We do the card thing, but I think your note in a packed lunch idea is much better:D0 -
We do this to each others packed lunches, but very sporadic through the Year, so as to keep them as little surprises rather than expectants..We do the card thing, but I think your note in a packed lunch idea is much better:D:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Similar to gipsygirl, we bought a big card each for the first Christmas after we were married and each year we write a new message for each other.
Love the romance of it and look forward to reading the previous years messages when they come out of the loft

We don't buy cards any more, we spend a fiver between us on lottery tickets instead :rotfl::rotfl:0

I do. We make each other cards every birthday/Christmas/Valentine's.
I always thought my mum just pretended to prefer homemade cards, but now I realise they really are more special! It's so cute when your boyfriend's drawn you a little picture and used all his little coloured pens. Bless!Similar to gipsygirl, we bought a big card each for the first Christmas after we were married and each year we write a new message for each other.
