House & contents insurance

Please can anyone help me.

Over 10 years ago I had subsidence under the single storey extension to my house.
The insurance company were great, the extension was underpinned and all works carried out.
They then wrote to me, stating that they no longer wanted to insure my property, which I find amazing after all the money that had been spent on it, and it now being super duper structually.

Since then, I have had great difficulty finding insurance companies to insure me, and when they have, they are very very expensive.

Has anyone else come accross this problem, and/or could give me ideas of companies whom I could try.

Also is there a cut off point or number of years, where you do not have to declare subsidence, as I do not want to jepordise any insurance claim in the future.

Please help

Off the peg insurers always ask if the property has "ever" had subsidence, and usually refuse to give a quote, so you are in the hands of specialist brokers/insurers over this.

Google subsistence insurer and you should find some.
