Thank you very much for your reply and answer.
I understand now. I will then wait until Mid December.

    Hi Adindas,

Did you receive the £100 bonus yet?

They OH and I both opened accounts mid Nov, similar to yourself, have covered the funding requirements, but have still to receive the bonus. I was wondering if you were the same, as you appear to have opened your account around the same time.

I was in a similar situation - contacted them and they promised to add it manually within 2 weeks.

    Dear Slush

Thank you for remind me. I can not check it at the moment as I am currently away from the UK. I will check it when I come back in the UK early January.

    Dear Slush and All

I just checked it mine yesterday. I have not received my £100 incentive from frist direct yet.

I opened mine in the middle of November and have paid £1500 into my a/c in two consecutive months.

Could anyone advice what do we need to do to get those incentive ?

    Thank you

Ring them and ask about it. Unlike most banks, phoning them is quick and painless, and they'll either chase it up and get it paid, or explain why you don't qualify (if that's the case). Either way, there's nothing to lose but a minute of your time.

Please could someone tell me whether I'd be better off opening the 8% RS account or the 2.5% ISA with FD? I am confused as to which gives the better return due to the tax-free element. Somewhere else I've read it's always worth using your ISA allowance first and my husbands not put anything unto one this tax year. I don't have enough $$ to warrant both!

    TIA

I opened my account on November 8th and incentive was credited on Jan 7th without me contacting them.

If you put the maximum £3600 in the RS over a year, you will get about £125 interest after tax plus whatever interest you get in the account you use for the cash before it goes into the RS.
If you put the whole £3600 in the ISA you will get £90 interest and all the cash is tied up.

    So, the RS is better!
