Free wifi in trains, second class?

Does anyone know, off the top of their head, if free wi-fi is provided in second class on any UK train?
I've hunted through some train operator websites, and can only find it chargeable on Virgin Trains, and non-existent on many others.
Thanks

National Express offer Free Wifi on certain routes.
Greyhoud UK (Portsmouth/Southampton/Bournemouth - London) offer free wifi
IIRC East Coast Trains and some Southern services (London-Brighton for the latter) offer free wifi
South West Trains catagorically DO NOT offer wifi in any formSignaller, author, father, carer.0 -
East Coast:
On-board Wi-Fi is free for First Class passengers. In Standard Class passengers get 15 minutes free usage and extra usage costs are £4.95 per hour and £9.95 for 24 hours. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Upon reflection, I don't quite follow the OP's train of thought (arf, arf!). If you are travelling from A to B by train with rail company C, then they either offer Wi-fi or they don't. You're not going to go the long way around just to get free wi-fi surely? No free lunch, and no free laptop

My train of thought is entirely straightforward and transparent!
Someone has asked me 'how to get free wi-fi on trains' and will be travelling from Gloucester to assorted areas of the country by train over the next couple of months.
Going by coach, or via Scotland (for example), to get wi-fi access was not considered!0 -
How do they contain the 'free' wi-fi just to the first class carriages then?
Can't you just sit by the door next to first class and pick it up?No free lunch, and no free laptop

Macman - i've done that before... sat right by the first class carriage in second class and received a reasonable wifi signal.. however, the signal does die off quite quickly0
