Electric shower advice please

OK, had an electric shower for about 8 years. Was good for a few years but now it just kind of dribbles (though quite a big dribble, just that there are no individual jets of water). So, is it time for a new shower or is there a simpler fix? Also, I'm very jealous of the showers I've seen in other peoples houses that have enormous power....can I replicate that with an electric shower from B&Q or wherever?
Cheers.

Are you sure the shower head just doesn't need de-scaling?0

Work backwards. With head removed, does water come down hose with any pressure? Remove hose, does water exit shower unit?
Both head and hose can be cheaply/easily replaced if cleaning does not work.
To remove limescale, soak overnight in a basin of vinegar (13p for 500 ml from sainsbury etc)
Power showers? Are you on a water meter? If so, ££££ and anyway what a water waste.
If you have a half decent drop from tank to shower they are not necessary.0 -
Maybe not the head but just maybe in the heater can which works very much like a kettle. Does your kettle get scaled up all the way up there?reduceditem wrote: »No scaling up here in chilly jocko-land anyways.

Electric showers are cold water mains fed. Power showers are tank fed. I think the OP means an electric shower from the description although a lot of peeps do get them mixed up.Power showers? Are you on a water meter? If so, ££££ and anyway what a water waste.

A bit of an assumption. There are many different permutations and who knows what the OP has?0 -
Not at all. OP calls it an electric shower and the definitions I have given are the norm. It was you that introduced the power shower concept.A bit of an assumption. There are many different permutations and who knows what the OP has?
