I have a Dell D610 laptop and my new Panasonic Lumix TZ10 camera came with Photofun studio 5.1 software.
My problem is I can download the stills and movies but I am only able to view the still photos I cannot open and view the movies. SOMETIMES I have vivid green sections on my laptop screen when I use the programme, a restart clears this. I have updated the software to the latest version. Is my laptop not up to the camera's technology and if so what can I do to upgrade it? Is there an easier way of transferring and viewing the AVCHD LITE files on my laptop? I can view them via the TV.

Try using Media Player Classic Home Cinema
Even if you are able to play the material, it is not likely to play smoothly on your laptop. Even increasing the RAM may not be enough.
Generally the only option is to downgrade your recordings to DVD Video quality.0 -

Thanks for your prompt reply, my RAM is to capacity, how do I downgrade the recordings? I looked in the camera menu last night but couldn't find the info, can I downgrade after transfer, I have the files but cannot open them.

Have you tried Media Player Classic Home Cinema?
Yes, you downgrade after shooting using the software supplied with the camera.
For future footage you can use the Motion JPEG setting and downgrade to VGA quality at 30fps. Your laptop may be able to handle this.
Though of course it's always nice to have a high quality original.0 -
Thanks, I have just downloaded the software and I can play the files on my laptop. Many thanks for your help, I think that I will uninstall the photofun software that came with the camera and use Picasa for geotagging and your recommended software for the videos.:j:hello:0

Also try updating the graphics drivers. Get them from Intels website rather than Dells. Intel have a detection tool you can use.0
