Prepaid Mastercard Dormancy Fees

Hi All,

In order to get around Riotscare's extortionate credit card fees I've purchased an Escape Prepaid Mastercard. I only keep a minimal balance on the card, topping it up as and when necessary. It costs 99p to top it up from a Debit card, but this can be avoided by topping it up via a bank transfer through online banking.

Now I've found i've been charged a TMS Dormancy Fee of £1 per month. I resent paying this when they already have my money preloaded onto the card, but this month I've used my card, both for payment and topping it up, and still they've charged me the £1 Dormancy Fee. Thieving B**tards!

Has anyone else experienced this? I've emailed Escape asking them for an explanation and will post their response when (if) received.

Spoke to Escape Card today and they accept it was an error and have refunded the money. If the card is unused for 3 months then a £1 Dormancy Fee is added.
