  • If you need the car to get to work can you ditch it when you go on mat leave?
  • But I'd still need the car when my maternity leave finished and with 2 children we need a safe reliable car and not a £500 banger that'd kill us all.... :(

  • As for my husbands lunch, he got a £1 lasagne from tesco last night and took it to work with him this morning so that's already a saving of £2 :D Not much but it's a start before we sit down and talk about it properly!

WHat are the APRs on your debts?
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • Barclaycard is 19.9%, Capital One is 29.9%, Citi is 27.9%, Mothercare shows as having £227.07 at 1.87% and £265.01 at 2.15%????, Dorothy Perkins doesn't say but to give you an idea the interest on £549 was £11.90 (based on a previous bill), blackhorse have no idea (slap on wrists), the car is 24.1% :(, and my husbands citi is also 27.9%.

well the MOST important thing you can do in your efforts to get debt free is to move your debt to lower or 0% APR cards

    how is your credit rating?

have you cut the cards up?

  • The cards are cut up but our credit rating is rubbish hence why they're all high interest! Stuck in a catch 22 unfortunately. Asked for a extension to my credit limit on the barclaycard but they refused because I'd had a payment that was a day late because of my bank. :(

i tell you whats worth a try. Phone up one of your cards and lie, say youve been offered 0% or 3% whatever by someone else. would they be able to match it, as you like thier company and want to stay loyal ( bleuurgh) but it CAN work, Ive had 2 companies do this so far.

    good luck

  • How is your account with BC? May be worth calling them and asking for a limit increase then asking what offers they have on BT's....may be worth a call and lowering interest rates!
