Girlfriend recently had minor bump in car about a month ago, she exchanged details with other party, but as yet has not received any news of other party making a claim....is there a time period by which the other party must have made a claim by?...ie:- if no claim is made withina certain time period would any claim made at a later date be nul n void?

Did they notify the insurers? Possibly then went direct to the insurance and they are wondering why your friend
has not notified them.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Yes. Proceedings must be commenced within 6 years of the date of the incident (3 years if personal injury is involved)0 -

has your girlfriend reported the accident to her insurers?0

yes she has reported accident to her insurers and they have temporarily increased her payments until they know if the other party make a claim or not, that is why we were wondering if a claim is going to be made, because if one isn/t made she wants to contact insures to ask the premium to be put backto normal.0

Even if there were to be a massive claim against her, the premium she pays should not change until the policy renewal comes round. At which time she can shop around for the best deal.
So (unless she has had a renewal since the incident) she should be asking on what grounds they have increased her payments, then take it from there.0
