i recently recieved a parking ticket from a private company, i sent a letter in response to the ticket, stating i was not prepared to pay the fine, giving no personal or car details. They then obtained details from DVLA and contacted me again to state i had to pay the fine. i said i was not paying the fine and i was appealing on the grounds of the charge applied. I was contacted again this time by a baliff letter. i wrote to the balliff company to state i was not paying the fine and also forwarded a copy of the letter to the original issuing ticket company who responded in saying they would not be entering into any further correspondence as the matter had now been passed to the debt collecting agency!! the next letter i received was from a solicitors which is quite threatening. any advice or recommendations as i am feeling quite intimidated?? i parked in a free carpark for users of the shops up to a maximum of 2 hours. i left the site whilst nipping to the bank and then returned to the shops, visiting 1. i had stayed on the carpark in total for 1 hr 15 mins

    1) its NOT a fine
    2) they are not bailiffs

Stop communications with this company, they don't know who was driving, you have no legal obligation to inform them, the ticket is not enforceable, they will not take you to court, there is no loss to them as they do not provide the car park, you were shopping there, you can prove it, so don't worry they will go away providing you ignore them.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

As taffy says, you have NOT received a fine and you have NOT had a letter from a bailiff.

You've got a parking charge notice (aka toilet roll, firelighter or paper aeroplane) and you've had a letter from a debt collector (so what?). Sadly you really have wasted a lot of time, worry and stamps communicating with scammers. Why bother?

You could just have Googled the firm and found enough info I am sure. For starters, I expect the letters you have received from a 'Solicitor' (Graham White maybe?) are shown in pics already on our thread here (linked below). Or if not, you've got some very similar letters:

Read some more threads on the board, watch the watchdog youtube link showing a legal expert demonstrating a use for private parking tickets.

You'll find all the info you need just by clicking 'parking fines, tickets and parking' on the blue link at the top of this page, underneath the orange Banking Saving tab. That will take you to every current thread about parking tickets. 99% of our threads are from people like you, every single day. All being told to ignore the fake ticket and scary letters!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
