Completion date

May seem a stupid q, but what does this actually mean?

We have a completion date of next Friday, what does it involve actually?

ie do we get keys then, can we start moving furniture from this date.
Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 2016

    That is your moving date. You need to get your removals arranged for then. You will get the keys normally lunchtime or after.

  • I would just add that this will only be your completion date if your solicitor has exchanged contracts on your behalf. The proposed completion date can, and often does, change before exchange. Do not book removals or arrange for anything to be delivered until you have exchanged contracts!
