Diving in Australia - Dr needed :0)

Hi peeps,

I'm hoping to save my hubby abit of frustration here :0)

We are diving in Cairns in the new year. Due to a previously perforated ear drum (now resolved, cleared to dive and has a special mask etc) and the strict dive requirements in NSW he has been advised (by the dive comapny we are diving with) to have a pre dive medical before we get to Cairns.

Does anyone know of any websites / Dr's preferably in Sydney but could manage Whitsundays who are qualified to sign off on dive medicals.

Nothing useful to add..... but I read 'diving' as 'driving' and your post got really bizarre when you mentioned the special mask! :rotfl:

Hi, I'm genuinly not being funny here, but if you just type 'sydney dive medical' into google and check the results you will find what you are looking for!

I'm assuming they're flying into Sydney for a few days and then on up to Cairns

I'd probably ask the dive company if they have any recommendations. Due to the (mad at times) regulations in Queensland with regard to diving you may find that a medical from a NSW doctor will be no more accepted than a medical from a UK doctor.

Hi all and cheers for the replies, Olias - I thought he had done that search but then again his web searching is probably about as good as my geography :0), cheers for the tip - I have tried many searches like that but none seem to have email addresses with them :0)

The plan is to get the medical in Sydney which would give us time to cancel the dive trip before we arrive in cairns should the need arise :0) He has been signed off by a UK Dr but as Spottydog says that doesn't count :0)
