Cutting cost of regular car hire

Options
Hi

I would like to hire a car for roughly one weekend in four, ie once a month.

The car would be for 2 adults and 3 children.

Any suggestions please on the cheapest way to do this?

Is it a case of looking at the comparison websites each time, plus trying to plan ahead as far as possible?

Or do any of the hire companies offer something like "25 days' hire per year for £x per day"?

Thanks

If you live in a city try a car club like CityCarClub. If not you can also try WhipCar.
  • Thanks, WhipCar looks really good.

The daily rates for the Car Club look a bit dear - although I'm sure it's a great option if you only need a car for a few hours.

I use streetcar which is good for a few hours. Hiring for weekends can be expensive but I think that if you use for over 72 hours you get unlimited mileage and they have a fuel card to use in the petrol station.
