Where can you get a card at 18 with no credit history?

I've applied for various cards claiming to be perfect for people with no credit score, but then they turn me down, and the only reason I can think of is that I have no credit score, which obviously isn't it as the cards are for people with no credit score.
I'm so confused.
Where offers credit cards when you have no credit history and means it? I'm sick of applying (which lowers my credit score) and then getting rejected after a credit check, if they're going to refuse people with no credit why false advertise!?

Vanquis, capital one and barclaycard are generally ones that dish cards out to low credit history although you might want to try your own bank.0

Have you thought about seeing what the lenders see when they search you? Order your credit reports.
Are you on the Electoral Roll?
When did you turn 18?
What did your bank (the one that receives your income) say when you asked them for a credit card?0 -
Vanquis, Capital One & Barclaycard all said they wouldn't say without an application, then turned me down after I applied, they won't say why.
I asked my bank and they said I can't even have an overdraft because although my annual income is around £6k I don't get at least £500 every month, as my income varies with my shifts at work, number of weeks at college (EMA), rep earnings and what mystery shopper jobs I get.
I've already signed up to the free trial with Experian (and cancelled ready) to see what it looks like, there's no false info on there or anything. It says I'm on the electoral roll etc. and then the rest is pretty much saying no credit in use, therefore no history of not paying.
I turned 18 at the start of last February (9th) and I am on the electoral roll (have been since 16 ready to vote at 18).0 -
It could quite simply be in that case that they do not see you'd be able to afford to pay it off....?
What amount are you looking for? Do you have any surplus cash at the end of the month, or are you at the end of your funds before the month runs out?MFW 2010- £112,500 + 20% Equity Loan = £150,000 35 years
2013- £108,877.28 + 20% / current OP = 19 years :T
Target to be Shared Equity Free- 2016Target for holiday to Australia- 2014Currently training for a Commando Challenge- drop and give me 200 -

easiest way is get a store card first pay it off every month ie £10/20 then after 3/4 months re apply for a credit card

Better yet, Three Sim ZERO

Get that, leave it on the side for six months (or use it, whatever takes your fancy) and you should be a shoe-in for Barclaycard Initial / Capital One Classic
Make sure to leave it at least six months after taking it out thoughCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

I guess the question is ... do you really need a credit card at the moment?
I realise that your situation may be different, but most people, when still at college, live at home, and have no need for a CC.0 -
Are you going to uni in September? If so can you hold on until then, you may be able to get a student overdraft, and if you manage it well, your bank may offer you a credit card. Try not to do what I did and use it to the max, overdrafts are hard to pay off if you continue to use the account!0

I needed a credit card as soon as possible at 18. You basically can't shop online without one.
What I did was apply to a few but Egg were the only ones who accepted me, with a £500 limit, but I've been able to go from there and now can get whatever I want. So if you haven't tried them yet, i'd suggest it. But applying to too many cards in a short period will look bad.0
